According to the 1939 WPA Survey, the Erste Linsker Chevra Bikur Cholim or in English the First Lysko Sick Benefit Society had been incorporated in 1899 as the First Lysko Chevra Biker Cholem. It had previously been located on Houston Street, then on Sheriff Street until 1919, when it moved to 88 Columbia Street, where it was still located in 1939.
