Notes: Founded in 1828 according to the Jewish Communal Register, 1917-1918. According to the 1939 WPA Survey, Ados Jeshurun's first place of worship had been in rented rooms in Old Everett Hall. It was located on West 39th Street from 1866-1874, but in 1874 merged with Anshe Chesed to form Temple Beth-El. In 1927, Beth-El consolidated with Emanu-El and ceased to exist as an independent congregation.
