Notes: According to the 1907/1908 American Jewish Year Book, the congregation was then known as Bakesh Shalom Anshe Ostrove, had been founded in 1888 rather than 1889, and was located at 225 Division Street. According to the Jewish Communal Register (1917/1918), the congregation was then known as Bikesh Sholom Anshei Ostrova, had been founded in 1900 rather than 1889, and in 1917/1918 was located at 32 Orchard Street. According to the 1939 WPA Survey, the congregation was known as Chevra Bacesh Sholom Anshei Ostrower, was founded in 1889, and was located at 67 Eldridge Street from its founding until 1925, when it bought the building at 9 Rutgers Place that it occupied in 1939.
