Routes to Roots Foundation, Inc.

The Center for Jewish History’s Ackman & Ziff Family Genealogy Institute has entered into a cooperative agreement with The Miriam Weiner Routes to Roots Foundation (RTRF).  This important partnership brings together some of the world's most comprehensive databases for researching Jewish genealogy, strongly enhancing the Center’s mission to offer open access to family history research tools.

To learn more about RTRF, please visit its website at http://www.rtrfoundation.org.

RTRF was established by Miriam Weiner, a recognized and experienced expert in Jewish genealogy and Holocaust research, to survey, study, research, inventory and document Jewish material, archives and Judaica in Eastern European archives.  RTRF’s Eastern European Archival Database and Image Database provide access to a wealth of genealogical resources relating to Jewish and civil records from Belarus, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland and Ukraine, as well as select information from Russia and Romania.

As a core aspect of this exciting partnership, The Center has incorporated RTRF’s Eastern European Archival Database and Image Database into its single search online catalog; these databases can now be accessed using http://search.cjh.org, or by using the buttons on this page.  Additionally, Miriam Weiner will bring her expertise to the Ackman & Ziff Family Genealogy Institute at the Center in the role of Senior Advisor for Genealogy Services.
